Born in Berkeley, CA, Ben was raised around the San Francisco Bay Area. He first fell in love with the sciences due to the educational work of Mr. Wizard and Bill Nye, through their respective shows. Like many, his love of science was continuously reinforced by a variety of sources such as: Walt Disney's World of Tomorrow, Carl Sagan, Science Fiction Books/Movies/Shows, Stephen Hawking, skipping rocks, Mr. Lum - his high school teacher, Dukes of Hazard car jumps, and most importantly, his family.

Today, he expresses his love of science by ruining every scientifically inaccurate movie for his friends, being a member of the North Bay Skeptics, and explaining everything he knows at the drop of a hat.

He joined NASA/EPO as a student assistant in the fall of 2011. He transferred from Santa Rosa Junior College to Sonoma State University and is earning a BS in both Physics and Mathematics. In the future, Ben hopes to transition into a career working in the space exploration field (manned or robotic) and to contribute to “The World of Tomorrow” when and wherever possible.
